The outstanding tenor Luciano Pavarotti, in response to critical voices objecting to his performing of populist pop songs, said: "Some people say that the word "pop" is an offensive variant of the word "irrelevant" – I do not accept this approach.
Likewise, I do not accept the approach that the word “classic” means “boring.”
There is only bad and good music.” These were the words and attitude of the great artist – who proved in the project “Pavarotti & Friends” how opera and pop music can be perfectly combined – that guided us when developing the programme of the concert “Tribute to Luciano Pavarotti.” This is the way in which a unique and innovative concert breaking the stereotypes about classical and opera music as well as popular music was created.
During the concert, along with the most famous opera hits, which the master Pavarotti presented alongside the tenors Domingo and Carreras ("Libiamo ne’ lieti calici ","La donna mobile","O sole mio"), you will also hear pieces of pop and rock pop music, presented in an innovative, operatic version. The pop sound will be combined with the classic and dignified sound of the Prestige Chamber Orchestra (strings, wind instruments, rhythm section). During the concert, we will also present the original works of Andrea Bocelli, the present, undisputed master of combining pop and opera music genres.
The concert will feature Emanuele Servidio – an Italian tenor with a powerful, dramatic voice and posture of master Pavarotti, adored by the audience. Laureate of many international opera competitions. He has performed at theatres and opera festivals in Italy, Switzerland, Brazil, China, Guatemala and Ukraine, presenting opera roles such as Don Carlo, Don Alvaro, Canio, Pinkerton, Radames, Rodolfo, Prince of Mantua, Makduf, Mario Cavaradossi. Beside Emanuel, the star of the Italian pop scene – Mary Montesano (performing with Eros Ramazzoti, Zucchero, Battiato, among others), and Polish pop singers being laureates of such programs as Voice of Poland, Got Talent, will also perform on the stage..
You are welcome to an evening full of great Italian music in great performance!
The premiere of the concert is scheduled for March 2022 at the Teatro Flaiano in Rome.
